Coming into Gilkey Harbor, the crew rushed ashore and assembled a lobster bake by placing the lobsters into an aluminum tub and then covering them with seaweed collected on the shore. This was set atop a propane burner to steam the lobsters.

I sailed aboard a Windjammer in 1980. It was one of the absolute best experiences of my life! This piece brought back vividly all those wonderful memories. I tell anyone who will listen that they simply must take a vacation aboard a Maine Windjammer!

What beautiful pictures of an even more beautiful experience. I sail around the Georgia Lakes and every year go back to my home waters on Mobile Bay. Again great shots!! Michael

A great cruise! A fantastic way to discover or reinforce a love of sailing. It respects a way of life long since past but deserving to be preserved.

I was on Cape Rosier as you enjoyed that charter. Saw you moored in Bucks that week as well. Penobscott Bay is by far some of the most beautiful cruising down east. My father captained the Timberwind out of Rockport harbor and I was crew on the Olad out of Camden as a teenager ( NOT A BAD SUMMER JOB)-Growing up in Camden and mid-coast Maine was something I cherish and thank my parents for. One day I hope to return.

Crewed on the Issac H Evans, Mary Day, and Timberwind 1975 - 1976. Best job I ever had!
